What is gold vermeil?
In a nutshell
Gold vermeil is a thick layer of gold used to gild sterling silver and to create a silver-based jewelry with a pure gold finishing.
How does it look?
The finished look is the same as pure gold jewelry as you can see in these earrings from one of our collections.

To use the gold vermeil standard, a jewelry creation must have a layer of at least 2.5 microns of gold. This is the common thickness for this type of gold and allows the finishing to last several years with proper care.
What's the difference with the other type of gold finishings?
Gold vermeil is different from gold filled or gold plated which is a layer of gold on brass, copper or another alloy of non-precious metal. This distinction allows gold vermeil to stay hypoallergenic as it's only composed of precious metals.
We recently launched a new collection of gold vermeil jewelry in our shop. Scroll down to discover them and our other pearl creations.
